Shelby Sutusky

Shelby Sutusky received her Juris Doctorate in 2006 from Florida Coastal School of Law in Jacksonville, Florida. She spent the last semester of law school as a visiting student while attending The University of South Carolina School of Law in Columbia South Carolina. She also attended The University of Alabama School of Law’s Masters in Tax Law Program for the 2011-2012 school year. She received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Journalism and Mass Communications in 2003 from The University of South Carolina. Shelby is a licensed attorney who resides in Irmo, SC with her husband and three children.

Shelby began her legal career as a Judicial Law Clerk for the Honorable Carolyn C. Matthews at the South Carolina Administrative Law Court from 2007-2011. After that time, she entered private practice, and appeared in matters before the SC Workers Compensation Commission, SC Court of Appeals and SC Circuit Court from 2011-2019. Her focus was primarily in insurance defense and debt collections matters. She then appeared before the Family Courts in South Carolina for issues involving the Department of Social Services.

She is pleased to have joined the Ecton Law Firm in January 2020 and looks forward to using her legal experience to represent taxpayers before the IRS.
